Suryakumar Yadav indeed scripted history in today’s IPL match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He achieved a remarkable, never-before-seen feat in the Indian Premier League.
Suryakumar Yadav became the fastest Indian batsman to reach 4000 runs in IPL history. He achieved this milestone in just 2714 balls, surpassing the previous record held by Suresh Raina (2881 balls). In addition to this historic feat, Suryakumar also accomplished another significant milestone in the same match. Suryakumar is now the first Indian player to have scored over 4000 IPL runs while maintaining a strike rate above 140. He is only the third player overall to achieve this, joining the elite company of Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.
During the match, Suryakumar played a blistering innings of 54 runs off just 28 balls, which included four boundaries and four sixes. This explosive knock also helped him clinch the Orange Cap for being the leading run-scorer of IPL 2025 so far, with a total of 427 runs in 10 matches.
Furthermore, with this innings, Suryakumar Yadav became the first player in IPL history to score 25 or more runs in each of his first 10 innings of a season. This showcases his exceptional consistency in the ongoing IPL 2025.
